Outside My Window….
The wind is chilly but the sun is brightly shining.
I am Learning….
Essential Oils. I have used Essential Oils off and on for a little over a year now, mostly in a diffuser for the boys at bedtime. I am really interested in natural and organic remedies so this past week I decided that it was time for me to really start learning about the many different uses for Essential Oils. Although I am still learning, I am now an independent distributor for Young Living Essential Oils. I am excited to learn more and share it all with you!!
In the Kitchen….
The smell of fresh, stove-top popped popcorn. We don’t own a microwave. Ours died about 5 years ago and we just never replaced it. Since then I have made our popcorn on the stove top. Now I cannot eat microwave popcorn, it tastes stale to me.
Around the House….
It is fairly quiet around here, we just returned home from a Nerf War Birthday party so the boys are all pretty wiped out and playing games on their tablets.
Homemaking Plans for next week….
Seriously hoping to get the Master Bedroom finished this week. It was on the agenda for last week, however, we had a Foster child join the family last week and I had to pull out some of the extra clothes that I have stored away, which lead to a complete reorganization of those bins.
A Homeschool Highlight from this week….
We use Reading Eggs, for both Eli and Everett. Everett especially loves to “play” the games. When we started the online reading program about 3 weeks ago, I would sit with Everett and help him through each lesson. This week Everett worked through his lessons completely on his own.
Homeschooling Plans for next week….
We will continue our FIAR unit study, The Glorious Flight and our study on Birds. The boys have both really enjoyed studying airplanes, aviation, and birds. I can’t wait to share with you some of the activities that we have completed during this study. This week is our field trip week, we are heading to an Aviation Museum.
On Our Prayer Board….
Our Foster son who joined our family this past week.
Well, that’s about it for this week. I hope that you stop by next week to catch another glimpse of my homeschool mama life! Every Sunday afternoon I will be sharing with you a little glimpse of my life with a new Homeschool Mama’s Daybook post.
Would you like to join in The Homeschool Mama’s Daybook? Here’s a link to my Evernote Note (do you use Evernote? You should, seriously!!) with the image that you are welcome to add to your post and a few of the writing prompts that you can use each week. You can link up your Homeschool Mama’s Daybook post anytime during the week, from Sunday 5pm to Saturday 11:59pm. A new link up will start each Sunday evening. It isn’t required, however it would be wonderful if you would link back to my Homeschool Mama’s Daybook post. I look forward to catching a glimpse in to your homeschool mama life!
