An Audio Adventures Review {Heirloom Audio Productions}

We recently received a terrific opportunity to review a product from Heirloom Audio Productions called Audio Adventures. These engaging and inspiring audio dramas from the former sound designers of the popular audio series, Adventures in Odyssey, are perfect family-friendly entertainment for ages 6 to 96!audio adventures review

There are currently five different stories available in The Extraordinary Adventures of G.A. Henty. We received four of the 2-CD sets for the purpose of this review, also included in our box of cd’s was a mouse pad and mug – a wonderful surprise!

It was hard to decide which audio drama to start with, they all look so intriguing and exciting. So I decided to begin our audio adventure with With LEE In Virginia because I thought it would make a great intro to our upcoming lessons about the Civil War.

I honestly was a little skeptical that my boys would be interested in these audio dramas because, although they like read aloud time, they are not particularly fond of audio books. Both boys, ages 6 & 11, would sit for 15 to 20 minutes glued to the laptop intently listening to the story. I can’t say that I am surprised though, with the amazing sound effects, incredible music, and actors like Kirk Cameron and Sean Astin…each story really comes to life and pulls you in to the adventure!

As an extra educational bonus, there are study guides available for each story. Each study guide includes “Listening Well” questions to help younger students understand the storyline, “Thinking Further” questions to use as assignments for older students, vocabulary words, and even a Bible Study to go along.

These audio dramas have been a great addition to our homeschool day, making our story time more exciting and educational!
