The Nature Book Club theme for October is Gourds, Squash, & Pumpkins. We are doing a week-long pumpkin unit study, going to a pumpkin patch, and making pumpkin slime this month!

  • Pumpkins are a member of the gourd family and are fruit.
  • Pumpkins are usually orange but can also be white, green, yellow, and red.
  • Pumpkins have thick shells which contain seeds and pulp.

It has been a few years since our last pumpkin farm visit, so I absolutely want to include a trip to a local pumpkin farm in our pumpkin unit study.
