Benefits of Using Digital Curriculum Options in Your Homeschool

We use a variety of curriculum in our homeschool, like physical options such as “real” books, workbooks, and textbooks as well as online or digital curriculum. Both, physical and digital curriculum options have many benefits. Today I want to share what I believe are the best benefits of using digital curriculum options in your homeschool.

Here are five benefits of using digital curriculum options in your homeschool.

You can learn anywhere

Do your kids love learning outside? When you’re learning with digital homeschool curriculum, going to the park for a lesson is doable! We live in a time where everything is digital, and most of us have mobile devices that we can take anywhere. Why wouldn’t we take advantage of that fact? After all, kids need to experience the world around them to understand things that go on.

It’s a space saver

If you’ve ever homeschooled, you know that papers and books pile up quickly. It can be such a mess when you’re doing everything on paper. Save yourself, and your home, a lot of space just by going digital. You can grade papers and tests all from your computer or iPad, and leave the countless amount of documents and books behind. Can I get an amen?

It’s affordable

With digital curriculum options, there can be a tremendous amount of savings, not just as a homeschooler either. The publishers save money in production, which is then usually passed on to you {win-win}.  Plus, there are no shipping fees for digital curriculum options either. If you already own an iPad or tablet, you can save money by using apps, downloading books, worksheets, notebooking pages, and more – you don’t even have to print anything! You can also save money by using sample downloads of physical curriculum options before buying to see if the curriculum is a good fit for your child. Oh and don’t forget a large number of free resources that are available now online. If you’re looking to save money, this is a tremendous savings potential!

It’s convenient

Have you ever been in the middle of a lesson only to realize you don’t have all the content you need? No problem! When you go with digital homeschooling, you can purchase the book or worksheets you need right then and there. Online & digital curriculum options eliminate shipping times and waiting for everything to come in. You’ll be able to continue with your lesson because you have everything right at your fingertips.

It’s reusable

If you have more than one child in your homeschool, this is an excellent opportunity for you to save on costs! Digital homeschooling allows you to print what you want as many times as you want, you don’t have to buy multiple student texts or workbooks. Also, you can pick and choose what parts of the curriculum you want to print. If you don’t want to teach a particular lesson, then you can skip those pages when printing it out.

As you can see, digital curriculum options have many benefits that you won’t get with other curriculum options. Do you use any digital curriculum in your homeschool?

  1. We use reading eggs/math seeds and teaching textbooks with our curriculum. I don’t like using too many digital options for curriculum but a few mixed in helps to break up the monotony for the kids and it takes a bit of pressure of me as well. I also sourced my language arts this year from The Good and the Beautiful and I was able to print each grade level for free so that was great and I have a quality product.
